  • President of Anderson Foundation Alesia Fleming

    ALESIA FLEMING

    BOARD CHAIR

    Alesia is a graduate of North Carolina Central University (NCCU). She has had the privilege of serving children in early childhood education and mental health services for over 15 years. With a background in finance, she has worked as a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual helping people achieve their financial goals through wealth management and strategic planning. In her collective professional experience, her focus has always been advocating for others. Most meaningful has been being a mother of one amazing young man. Alesia loves the mountains, time with friends, and the unconditional love of her favorite pup.

  • Vice President of Anderson Foundation Fernanda Tate-Owens

    FERNANDA TATE-OWENS

    VICE CHAIR

    Fernanda is an English Professor at Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte Campus. She is a proud graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, and a Silver Star and Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® where she has held numerous leadership positions within the sorority and served on the Board of Directors for Ivy Hands Foundation. Her life’s work is reflected in her numerous community service projects including mentoring youth. Fernanda cherishes each second of her life and treasures spending time with her family and friends.

    KENTREL OWENS

    TREASURER

    Kentrel has been a Charlottean for over three decades. He attended Charlotte Christian for his lower, middle, and high school education. He obtained his undergraduate degree in both Spanish and Accounting from Wofford College while simultaneously playing for the college’s soccer team. Finally, Kentrel acquired his Master of Accountancy from Gardner-Webb University. Currently, Kentrel is an accountant who preaches efficiency, diligence, and accuracy within every facet of his clients’ records. In his free time, he is an enthusiast in fitness and health as he trains in CrossFit, runs in various races, and participates in obstacle courses. However, his main priority is spending quality time with his wife and daughter so that “Dada” can continue gathering memories that truly matter.

  • Secretary of Anderson Foundation Vicki Cleveland Taylor

    VICKI CLEVELAND TAYLOR

    SECRETARY

    Vicki is a retired Instructor of English; her critical thinking courses included Societal Issues and the Pursuit of Happiness. She has worked as a Mental Health Counselor with women experiencing Trauma, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, and Grief and currently co-facilitates a women’s support group. Vicki enjoys spending time with family and friends, writing, cooking, and helping.

  • Board Member of Anderson Foundation Leslie Mussington

    LESLIE MUSSINGTON

    BOARD MEMBER

    Leslie is a husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, uncle, and a child of The Most-High God; these roles bring him much joy. When Leslie is not teaching reading, gardening, big rig truck driving, and self-defense, he travels the world with his wife. He has served in the United States Air Force and retired from a career as a Clinical Social Worker and Certified Mediator. Leslie will apply his lifelong experiences to positively impact the lives of the young people and families served by the Anderson Outreach.

    ALAN GRIFFIN

    BOARD MEMBER

    Alan Griffin started KidsnChrist ministries 26 years ago. His ministry supports inner-city kids with transportation to and from church, school, sporting events, and mission trips. They also provide clothes, food, school supplies, and tuition as needed. Mr. Griffin is also a prolific writer of specialized biblical literature reaching people of all ages.

  • Advisory Board Member of Anderson Foundation Alfred Owens

    ALFRED OWENS

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Alfred has always had an interest in finance. After graduating from college, he began working with a small CPA firm before advancing to an Accounting Supervisor at a billion-dollar corporation and eventually to Project Accounting Manager at another billion dollar company. His employment with these businesses provided him with the opportunity to live in New Orleans, LA; Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Albuquerque, NM; and Chicago, IL. For over 20 years, he has owned a public accounting firm, and in 2012, he became the founder of a mental health facility for adolescents. When he is not working, he spends his free time playing tennis, walking, and working out, volunteering in the community, and spending time with his family.
